Rochester Coeur Mine, Humboldt River Basin
Although discovered in the late 1860s, the Rochester Mine boom years were 1912-1921 when it produced 200 tons of silver, 1.6 tons of gold, and 50 tons of lead. The rising and tilting geology of the region has brought many precious metals near to the surface.
