The Bering block is believed to be a piece of tectonic plate that is moving with respect to North America. The proposed Bering block rotates the westernmost portions of Alaska and the Bering Sea clockwise.

This rotation (blue arrow) and the counterclockwise (orange arrow) motion of southern Alaska are believed to be the reason for the lack of earthquakes on the western Denail Fault.
