Geophysics researchers have written several hundred papers explaining new discoveries as a result of EarthScope experiments. These discoveries include: episodic tremor and slip in the Pacific Northwest; images of the North American tectonic plate under the United States with greater detail; motion of the Basin and Range region of the southwestern United States; detection of a tornado; reentry of the Space Shuttle; flight path of meteors; tracking of magma motion under Yellowstone National Park and more accurate mapping of known faults.
EarthScope is the largest geophysics research project ever attempted.
