Abstract submission

All participants are encouraged to submit abstracts. Electronic submissions are preferred. Instructions are available on the IRIS Website. Please follow instructions for “Submitting Abstracts” or you may send abstract to:

Poster space will be available for all submissions. The area allotted each poster is 4’ x 4’.

Workshop Support

Full Committee Members and Speakers

IRIS will cover airfare (lowest offered by Garber Travel under workshop agreement), shuttle transportation and lodging of all IRIS committee members and speakers. This support applies for the nights of June 18 through June 21.

IRIS Member Institutions

IRIS will cover lodging expenses for one representative from an IRIS member institution if that institution is not otherwise represented by a committee member or a speaker. This support will be master-billed to IRIS for the nights of June 18 through June 21.

Students and Postdoctoral Fellows

One student or Postdoctoral Fellow from IRIS member institutions may request support of up to $1000 to cover cost of lodging and airfare. Limited funding is available. Applications must be approved by institutional board member and will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Application available on Web site.

Registration

All participants are required to register for the workshop and pay a registration fee of $150. All adults and children attending meals are expected to register – adults $150, children under 12, $70.

Payment may be made to IRIS by check, Master Card or VISA.

Please see registration form on Web site. If you would rather not place your credit information on this registration, please call 202-682-2220 with card number and expiration date. Registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Location Details

Hotel

All attendees must make their own hotel reservations. Room and tax for IRIS-supported participants will be billed directly to IRIS. Scholarship applicants need not make reservations – double rooms will be assigned.

At Tenaya Lodge, the room rate is $160 per night, plus 10% State and Local Tax. For reservations, please call 800-635-5807. Please indicate you are calling as part of the IRIS workshop.

A limited number of rooms/suites are available at the Apple Tree Inn, located a few hundred feet from Tenaya Lodge. Guests will have access to all Tenaya facilities. The rate at Apple Tree is $159 per night for queen room and $189 for suites (suitable for families) plus 10% taxes. The room cost includes an expanded continental breakfast. Rooms held at hotels are guaranteed until May 9th, after that all rooms will be released.

Travel

Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the individual participant.

Tenaya Lodge is located along Highway 41, two miles from Yosemite’s South Gate. The lodge is 55 miles north of Fresno (FAT). Sacramento (SMF) San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK) airports are approximately 3 1/2 hours away.

Ground Transportation

For shuttle transportation to and from Fresno, please call Lori Rivera at Tenaya 559-692-8918. Lori will coordinate scheduling to minimize the $100/one-way cost of the van. (The $100 will be split among passengers with a 5 person maximum per trip)
