Thread: stations and networks in StaMessage

Hi

Is there a reason to have both stations and networks directly in a
StaMessage in StationXML? It adds some complexity to the parsing on
the client side to have to deal with two cases. As the network element
is really lightweight, with only the code attribute being required, so
why not require all stations be inside Network elements? I am not sure
having "naked stations" really buys much other than backwards
compatibility, and so I would argue against it. Is there some other
reason that I am missing?
