ENSCO’s National Security Solutions (NSS) Division provides security solutions for the United States government. NSS employees offer a multi-disciplinary approach to solve some of the most challenging technical problems in complex operational environments. Our areas of expertise are in sensor development and integration; chemical, biological and geophysical phenomenology; software applications and modeling; and operational applications of technology. Key customers include the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and the Intelligence Community.

We are currently hiring the “best of breed” minds in the areas of geophysics data management and analysis. Eligible candidates must be US citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and have a Bachelor's Degree with concentration in Geophysics, or equivalent. Advanced geophysics degrees (or equivalent) are a strong plus! Work will be performed in Melbourne, Florida. Experience in Unix/Linux, C, Fortran, Python, Matlab, programming/scripting languages such as Perl, R, C-Shell, database query (SQL), mapping software (GMT, ArcView), CSS3.0 database schema, software development a plus for all openings.

Scientific Program Manager
Leads scientists, engineers in custom software solutions for software systems and multipurpose geophysical and other data collection, processing and analysis; scientific system design or application; experience in observational seismology, management of large geophysical data repos, and Earned Value Management a plus; strong leadership skills a must.

Regional Network Seismologist
Observational seismologist experienced with regional and local seismic network operations. Demonstrated experience in seismo-acoustic waveform analysis (phase identification/velocity models/location) of local, regional, and teleseismic sources and use of common seismo-acoustic analysis software packages. Expertise in signal detection algorithms, spectral analysis, and/or statistical analysis. Develop innovative analysis tech/tools; publish in scientific journals and conferences; collaboration with researchers at National labs, academia and industry; organize/evaluate geophysical sensor metadata, including instrument responses; prepare technical proposals.

Geophysical Data Manager
Oversees collection/archiving of geophysical data from online repositories; programming to automate download processes, quality control evaluation of retrieved data, insertion of collection data into local databases, extraction of data for customer delivery, and management of data repositories; experience in relational databases, SQL; metadata associated with geophysical sensor systems; knowledge of data management systems, practices, and standards; experience in seismo-acoustic waveform analysis; using seismo-acoustic analysis software; seismological data formats (SEED/MiniSEED files, CSS3.0 database schema, etc.) a plus.

Geophysical Data Analysts
Experience in acoustic analysis (seismic, infrasonic, hydroacoustic) waveform data; acoustic signal propagation; analysis techniques; digital signal processing; time series analysis; common seismo-acoustic analysis software; signal detection algorithms, spectral analysis, statistical analysis.
