Hi Josphat,
Try hitting enter when rdseed prompts you for an output name rather than
entering one yourself.

Hi Josphat-
What operating system are you running this on? It's generally bad when code like rdseed throws a segmentation fault. Are you running rdseed 5.3.1?
It could be an anomaly with your SEED data as well, but this might be something for us to look out for in terms of being a bug. Sorry you are having trouble here.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for your email. Am running rdseed5.3.1 using Ubuntu Linux 14.04.
The SEED data without the particular station is still giving me error
message "WARNING (output_sac): Segmentation fault (core dumped)"
Even when I try to play with the flag
"Check Reversal [(0=No), 1=Dip.Azimuth, 2=Gain, 3=Both]:"
as suggested by Januka, I still get the same error warning message.
Any assistance is much appreciated
Josphat

Hi Josphat-
What I noticed was that the Linux executable bundled with rdseed is for Red Hat, and Ubuntu is in a different build family, so there is a chance that the following custom build could work better. Can you try downloading this binary and see if it behaves better on your machine?
http://ds.iris.edu/pub/beta/rdseed/rdseed.ubuntu.14.04
Thanks!

Hi Josphat-
We do keep some older releases around just in case. You can find these at
http://ds.iris.edu/pub/programs/OLDER_Versions/rdseed/
There is a Java alternative that sometimes works well for people. You can try Jrdseed if you have a Java JVM installed:
http://ds.iris.edu/pub/programs/Jrdseed/
Good luck trying to get this to work. If you are still having problems, we'd have to see a copy of the SEED data to be able to help.
