JAMSTEC-ODS is soliciting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher who will work under the International Energy Joint R&D Program between JAMSTEC and Seoul National University entitled “Korea-Japan Joint Development of Magnetic Measurement Tools for Advanced Resources and Energy Exploration in Offshore Reservoirs” (FY2016–2019; Co-Investigator: Kyaw Moe).

RESEARCH DESCRIPTION
Under the Korea-Japan Joint Development project, Seoul National University and JAMSTEC are developing magnetic measurement tools for a challenging deep-water environment for both industrial and scientific purposes and for application in the various drilling projects of ODS-JAMSTEC.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful applicant will develop data acquisition applications for the third generation borehole magnetometer (3GBM) tool, test and check the quality of the data, and apply the acquired data for core-log data integration in various marine and earth science research efforts. As a member of ODS, the successful applicant will work in cooperation with researchers and engineers working on a broad-range of topics in ocean drilling science and may participate in offshore drilling expeditions and field experiments.
