Hi all,
I am trying to download far-field data from the Source Physics
Experiment (SPE1, 2, 3). According to the data release report (14-068)
far-field data were submitted to and merged into the IRIS archive with
network code "NE".
The following request for station metadata is successful:
http://service.iris.edu/fdsnws/station/1/query?starttime=2012-06-24T18%3A00%3A00.000000&endtime=2012-08-23T18%3A00%3A00.000000&longitude=-116.0609&minradius=0.0&station=L%2A&format=text&latitude=37.2212&matchtimeseries=true&level=channel&maxradius=0.01
but no waveform data seems to be publicly available. For example, this
request returns no data:
http://service.iris.edu/fdsnws/dataselect/1/query?location=%2A&starttime=2012-06-24T18%3A00%3A00.000000&network=NE&station=L100%3F&endtime=2012-08-23T18%3A00%3A00.000000&channel=%2A
Is there anything I am missing?
Best regards,
Tom

Hi Tom,
I believe the far-field component of SPE was archived using the network code "SN". This is supported by your metadata request that returns data for channels in the SN network.
So try changing "network=NE" to "network=SN" in your fdsnws-dataselect request and you should get some data.
regards,
Chad

Hello again,
Chad is (of course) correct about the data archiving - the SPE experiments use the SN network code and can be accessed in the usual way from the FDSN services.
Accessing the data through either the Assembled Data request or using the fdsnws-dataselect web service with network code SN should provide you with the data you’re looking for.
Sorry for any confusion.
Kindly,
Robert

Hi Chad, hi Robert,
thanks for your fast answer! With "SN" network code I get the data.
Thank you,
Tom

Hello,
The data you are requesting appears to be categorized as Assembled Data, and is typically not made available through the standard FDSN web services.
You can use this link for requesting data for SPE3, Report Number 14-068: http://ds.iris.edu/ds/nodes/dmc/forms/assembled-data/?dataset_report_number=14-068
For other Source Physics Experiment datasets, simply substitute the appropriate report number at the end of the URL (after the “=“ character). For SPE2, this should be 14-067, and for SPE1 use 14-017. This link can be used to confirm the Report Number matches the dataset you seek. http://ds.iris.edu/mda#adata
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact the DMC for further clarification.
Thank you,
Robert
