The 4th International Conference on Continental Earthquakes will be held
in Chengdu, China, on May 12-14, 2018. Here we solicit contributions to
the session S2-2-1, Faulting and Earthquake Dynamics. Deadline for
abstract submission is *January 30, 2018*.

Session Description

In the past years significant progresses have been made to better
understand earthquake faulting and dynamics in a variety of perspectives
such as seismological and geodetic observations, laboratory experiments
and numerical modeling. As more data and methods become available, it is
feasible to understand various kinds of fault slip processes and
earthquake dynamics as well as the mechanical properties of fault zones.
To promote integrated studies in faulting and earthquake mechanics, this
session calls contributions from multiple disciplines, including but not
limited to: (1) laboratory experiments on mechanical and transport
properties of fault zones; (2) modeling of earthquake generation and
rupture propagation; (3) geological and microstructural observations on
natural faulting processes; (4) seismological and geodetic observations
on earthquake processes.
