Please register for "Volcanoes: Using Seismology to Find Where is the
Magma and How Does it Get to the Surface?" on May 23, 2018 2:00 PM EDT
at: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/3050616292785488386
Presented by: Dr. Stephen McNutt, University of South Florida
Abstract: New high quality seismic and geologic data and modern methods
produce higher resolution models of the size, shape and location of
magma bodies – molten rock under the ground. These models allow new
interpretations of precursors; the sequence of events that occurs prior
to eruptions as the molten rock and gases ascend to the Earth’s surface.
In this webinar, Dr. McNutt will show several examples of precursors for
recent eruptions, and show what scientists watch for as they interpret
the fascinating variety of signals produced by active volcanoes.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing
information about joining the webinar. Webinars are archived for later
viewing at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD4D607C2FA317E6D
