Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Marine Seismology

The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University invites
applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Scientist position in
the Marine Geology and Geophysics division. The successful applicant
will work on projects focused on the Hawaii-Emperor Seamount Chain and
the Eastern North American Rifted Margin. These projects would involve
the analysis and interpretation of multi-channel seismic reflection
and/or wide-angle reflection/ refraction data. The Hawaii-Emperor
program would also involve data acquisition aboard the R/V /Marcus G.
Langseth/ during research cruises in the fall of 2018 and summer of
2019. The successful candidate will join a dynamic group of
geophysicists working on a wide range of interrelated problems in Earth
structure and dynamics.


Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related
discipline is required. Experience in the analysis of active-source
seismic data is highly preferred.

Appointment will be for 1-year, with continuation pending funding and
progress.
