The Structural Seismology Group at the Research and Development (R&D) Center for Earthquake and Tsunami (CEAT), Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), is soliciting applications for two Postdoctoral Researcher positions in a research project entitled “Subduction Zone Observation and Monitoring for Hazard Mitigation”, which is an integrated seismogenic zone research project through seismic surveys, seafloor observations, and monitoring earthquakes and tsunamis.

[Research Description]
Project tasks will include the following:
Research to reveal the seismogenic process in the seismogenic zones around Japan, such as the Nankai Trough and Japan Trench, using data processing and interpreting seismic data from active source seismic surveys using a multichannel seismic reflection system and/or ocean bottom seismometers.

[Requirements]
Applicants are required to have been awarded or expect to have obtained a Ph.D. in a related field by the date of employment. In addition, no more than 5 years can have passed between the last day of the fiscal year in which the applicants obtained a Ph.D. and the date of employment.
