The Solid Earth Physics Group at the Niels Bohr Institute is offering a PostDoc position for an excellent, highly motivated candidate interested in computational geophysics. The position is available for 2 years from February 1, 2019 (or soon thereafter).


The position is associated with the Climate and Computational Geophysics section at the Niels Bohr Institute, and will contribute to our close collaboration with the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management (IGN). The successful candidate will have a PhD in seismology and strong analytical and computational skills with a background in geophysics, physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related fields. The selected candidate will join a group of mathematical and computational geophysicists with focus on inverse problems and seismology, studying all aspects of the Earth's structure and composition.

The work will be focused on advanced data analysis where quantitative geological information is integrated with large-scale geophysical data, with the purpose of obtaining high-resolution physical and geological models of the Earth.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Terms of appointment and payment according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State. The starting salary is currently up to DKK 426.625 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 72.952). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
