I have tried many times sonogram and spectrogram functions in SAC_Linux ver(00.59.44), but unfortunately I have gotten massages below then SAC has crashed.
========================================SAC> read test_123456.sac

SAC> sonogram
Window size: 200 Overlap: 100 FFT size: 512
Warning: ORDER begin reset to 1/2 length of correlation window.
ORDER = 100
Spectrogram dimensions are 512 by 343 .
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 72 (X_PutImage)
Serial number of failed request: 66
Current serial number in output stream: 68
=======================================

Could any one advise me or help me to solve this serious problem, please?!

Hot regards,

    Dear List -

    I suspect this is due to the lack of TrueColor support in the X
    support in SAC2000. If correct, you'll get the same result any time
    you use color -- is this true? Experiment and see.

    You can avoid triggering the color problem by plotting in black and
    white using 'spectrogram gray' or 'spectrogram xyz' and then contouring
    the resulting xyz file.

    You might be able to configure your X server not to provide a
    TrueColor screen choice. This is a black art, not for novices, but you
    might have some success by that route. (I can provide no advice -- X
    installations vary widely, and you'll have to consult your own
    distribution manuals.)

    If you have access to a Mac, you could also use MacSAC which has
    TrueColor support and which also has a functioning spectrogram command.

      Along the lines that George suggested. Upgrading to a newer version
      of sac should solve your issue. The problem you are experiencing was
      fixed in SAC version 100.1 in 2005 ( 101.0 in 2007 ). Using either
      SAC distributed by IRIS or MacSac should solve your problems.
