Session title: S-CG50 "Intraslab and intraplate earthquakes"
http://www.jpgu.org/meeting_e2019/SessionList_en/detail/S-CG50.html

Session abstract:
The purpose of this session is to share recent advances of geo-scientifical studies for intraslab and shallow-depth intraplate earthquakes. We seek to formulate future directions of the interdisciplinary study of the occurrence of intermediate-depth and deep earthquakes from the viewpoint of seismology, geodynamics and mineral physics. We welcome presentations from a wide variety of scientific disciplines, including seismology, seismotectonics, subduction zone dynamics, mineral and rock physics, other geophysics, geology, and numerical modeling.

Invited speakers and tentative titles:
Wasja Bloch (GFZ GeoForschungszentrum Potsdam) "Evidence for transient fluid pathways in the mantle of the subducting Nazca slab from seismological observations and modeling of the Poisson's ratio"
Marina Manea (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) "Subduction of serpentinized fracture zone and intraslab earthquakes in southern Mexico"

Talks will also be given by:
Thomas Ferrand (ERI, University of Tokyo)
Alexandre Schubnel (ENS) "Reaction-induced faulting in granulite causes earthquakes in the lower continental crust"

Conveners:
Saeko Kita (International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering, BRI)
Tomohiro Ohuchi (Geodynamics Research Center, Ehime University)
Marcel Thielmann (Bavarian Geoinstitute, University of Bayreuth)
Ryo Okuwaki (University of Tsukuba)
