Global & Computational Seismology group at the Department of Geophysics, Colorado School of Mines, is seeking an MSc or a PhD student to work on Mars (as part of the Mars InSight mission) and Earth seismology to advance our understanding of planetary interiors, their dynamics and seismic sources based on 3D numerical simulations of seismic wave propagation.

Qualifications:

1) B.S. or M.Sc. in geophysics, physics, applied math, or computer sciences.
2) Self-motivation and enthusiasm in scientific research.
3) Basic programming skills (Fortran, Python, C++, etc.), interest in computational methods and 
high-performance computing.
4) Good communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills for collaborative work.
