JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Systems/ Geophysical Analyst shall provide support by conducting research into the use of infrasound and seismic data for treaty monitoring purposes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assess regional data evaluation procedures and software
• Modeling signal propagation through realistic atmospheres
• Investigation of signal-source scaling for a variety of source conditions
• Evaluation of techniques for wind noise suppression with existing and experimental sensor technologies
• General infrasound/hydroacoustic research
• Recommend actions to correct deficiencies, increase efficiency, and improve capabilities
• Prepare executive level briefings
• Perform documentation reviews
• Prepare technical reports on integration and installation support issues and recommendation corrective actions to senior government executive
• Attend meeting at the direction of the government, reporting findings, progress, and recommending corrective actions

EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree or an Air Force Scientific Applications Specialist Associate degree or equivalent and documented experience specific to the defined responsibilities.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience performing tasks like those above
• Experience using Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to communicate with executives

DESIRED SKILLS:
• AFTAC geophysical analyst experience
• Experience with site response analysis and understanding of propagation path effects
• Experience with SeaTools, SAC, or other geophysical signal processing software
• Experience with geophysical system calibration for operations and maintenance
• Experience with routine noise analysis, signal analysis, including frequency analysis of both
• Basic coding/scripting skills
• Experience working within a government Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)
• Experience deriving and marking classified documents according to the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) and local security classification guides

OTHER:
• US Citizenship required
• Must possess a fully adjudicated (not an interim) Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
