The Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Utah invites applications for a one-year appointment as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Seismology. The position is renewable for a second year pending acceptable progress and availability of funding. The successful applicant will work on array-based seismic interferometry and tomography related projects. The specific research projects are flexible and will depend on the skills and interests of the successful applicant. Example research projects include, but are not limited to, investigating detailed earth structure using USArray, shallow crustal and fault zone imaging using dense geophone arrays, and seismic imaging of the Yellowstone hydrothermal/volcanic system.

The start date of the position is flexible; summer 2020 is preferred. The review process will start December 1st, 2019 and continue until the position is filled. A Ph.D. in geophysics or a related field is required at the time of appointment.
