With 80 state-of-the-art broadband seismic stations distributed along the entire country of Costa Rica, the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI) at Universidad Nacional, is seeking a postdoctoral scholar in seismology or geophysics for one year with the possibility to extend it up to two years. The position is expected to contribute to the development of one or several of the next projects: a) Receiver functions analysis for the entire country, b) seismic tomography, c) automatic identification of P and S phases for earthquake locations and reporting using machine learning, d) developing real-time products using Antelope, Seiscomp3 and website interfaces and e) conducting independent research.
