Dear Bruno,
I would suggest starting here
http://www.iris.washington.edu/pipermail/sac-help/2009-June/000565.html
This behavior was reported a while back, but I do not know if this
fixed the problem.
If you fix this issue, please let me know.
64 bit versions of SAC do exist for linux now.

Dear Brian,
Thank you very much for your attention.
Actually I have tried this before and I got this:
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
[root@localhost sac]# ldd /usr/local/sac/bin/sac
/usr/bin/ldd: line 124: 18383 Floating point exceptionLD_TRACE_LOADED_OBJECTS=1 LD_WARN= LD_BIND_NOW= LD_LIBRARY_VERSION=$verify_out LD_VERBOSE= "$@"

Is there anything that I should do to fix this issue?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Bruno
