To support these efforts, it has both data collection and archival processes; programs to support internal and external quality monitoring, control and evaluation; and web pages with information and tools for internal and external users and to provide information for the public, researchers and the emergency management community. This position provides programming and web development and management to support these functions.

• Design, test and implement web functionality to meet the evolving needs of BSL and partner organizations using languages that include, but are not limited to Java, JavaScript, React.js, Python, UNIX shell scripting, php, and Perl with CGI scripting.

• Perform security updates as necessary.

• Independently devise, develop, debug, improve maintain and upgrade procedures, scripts and processes to automatically retrieve and archive data from the more than 100 remote sites with geophysical instrumentation operated by the BSL, and for new equipment and sites as they come online.

• The development and maintenance of these procedures and tools to retrieve data and to support performance evaluation and problem tracking is vital.

• Research documentation for new types of equipment to be deployed, to preemptively design, develop, test and maintain new procedures & scripts to retrieve data from that equipment.

• Propose, design and develop "master" scripts to automate data retrieval, quality control and archival to the fullest extent possible while maintaining archive integrity and completeness and keeping data latency under appropriate thresholds.

• When necessary, manually retrieve, assess, and archive seismic data if scripts do not exist or have failed, using the information gained to improve existing procedures.

• Design, develop and maintain tools to support the evaluation of station performance, create and manage trouble tickets, and perform routine remote station tasks.

• Provide documentation for scripts and tools.

• Contribute to the improvement and modernization of the BSL's software library of custom programs.

• Research, document and enter existing codes into version control.

• Ensure that new codes are entered into version control, include unit testing and documentation. As existing software codes that have been developed and are maintained "in house" are updated, support and implement their inclusion in version control, the development of unit tests, and ensure documentation is updated.
