INVESTIGADOR TITULAR OR ASOCIADO POSITION IN SEISMOLOGY

INSTITUTO DE GEOFÍSICA, UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL AUTÓNOMA DE MÉXICO

The Instituto de Geofísica at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México
(UNAM) has a position open the Seismology Department at the Asociado or
Titular Investigador level (equivalent of Assistant and Associate tenure
track Professor). Applicants should be motivated, broad-thinking scientists
whose research covers seismology and/or geodesy (GNSS or INSAR) who will
build collaborations that complement and extend our current research. Our
research is based on one of the best natural laboratories, Mexico and its

subsequent hazard, slow slip events, and active volcanoes. Applications are
expected to maintain an active research program and are required to teach

The position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent in geophysics or a relevant
field at the time of appointment. Candidates should have a competitive
record of publication. Candidates will be expected to teach at both
undergraduate and graduate levels, and engage in institutional activities
within the university. At least 1 postdoctoral experience is also
necessary. Spanish speaking is not necessary at the time of appointment,
