Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently want to download the continuous seismic recordings of station PN.TUL (35.91,-95.79) and US.WMOK (34.73,-98.7807). Learned from the IRIS database, these two stations were deployed during 2008-01-01 to 2018-01-01. However, by using Obspy package, I cannot get the 10-year-long continuous recordings of these two stations. Especially for the US.WMOK, only the recordings from 2008-01-01 to 2011-05-02 can be downloaded, the rest are 'not available'. I have discussed with the admin of Obspy, and they think it is because of the IRIS database. So I send this email to ask if you have any information or suggestion on this problem?
Best regards,
Shuo

Hello Shuo,
It looks like the PN.TUL station only has 7 days of data:
https://service.iris.edu/fdsnws/availability/1/extent?format=text&net=PN&sta=TUL&orderby=nslc_time_quality_samplerate&includerestricted=true&nodata=404
I suspect the issue with US.WMOK is that the location codes changed over time:
https://service.iris.edu/fdsnws/availability/1/extent?format=text&net=US&sta=WMOK&orderby=nslc_time_quality_samplerate&includerestricted=true&nodata=404
Taking the BHZ channel as an example:
https://service.iris.edu/fdsnws/availability/1/extent?format=text&net=US&sta=WMOK&orderby=nslc_time_quality_samplerate&includerestricted=true&nodata=404&cha=BHZ

It looks like there was one instrument "--" installed in 1993, then a second "HR" installed in 2006. Then in 2011 these got replaced by "00" and "10". It's possible these are the same instruments, but in general if the location code changes most things (from the data service to ObsPy libraries) will consider them separate channels, so they wouldn't find a continuous stream here.
Cheers,
Adam
