Dear colleagues,

With the deadline for submissions for the vEGU 2021 fast approaching we
would like to remind you of our session *SM2.2: Advances in fiber-optic
technologies for geophysical applications* which will be held during the
vEGU21: Gather Online from the 19th -30th April (https://www.egu21.eu). The
session will focus on the use of fiber-optic sensing technologies in
geoscience and will feature an invited presentation from Zhongwen Zhan on
submarine fiber-sensing.

We welcome contributions that involve the application of fiber-optic cables
or sensors in seismology, geodesy, geophysics, natural hazards,
oceanography, urban environment, geothermal application with an emphasis on
laboratory studies, large-scale field tests, and modeling and hope that you
consider sharing your research in our session. More information about the
session can be found at
https://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU21/session/39295

For the vEGU21 participation and abstract submission, the procedure remains
the same as in previous years but all scientific sessions will use the new
EGU virtual PICO (vPICO) session format.

The submission deadline is the 13th of January 2021 at 13:00 CET.

Kind regards,
Shane Murphy, Gilda Currenti, Marc-Andre Gutscher, Zack Spica, and Philippe
