The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) and UNAVCO, Inc. (UNAVCO), both university consortia, are interested in identifying member institutions that may be willing to host one or more functions of a future (post-2023) merged IRIS-UNAVCO organization to be known as the EarthScope Consortium, Inc.

This Request for Information (RFI) is a last and final call for expressions of interest from IRIS and UNAVCO member institutions, located in the USA, to host one or more functions of the new organization, which would support any future NSF-funded geophysical facility operated by the EarthScope Consortium.

We will review the expressions of interest, combined with our own research and analysis, to determine which organizations we will follow-up with for more information and/or negotiation. We then expect to select one or more partners that will be part of our proposal team when the new organization responds to the anticipated NSF solicitation for the SAGE-GAGE follow-on facility.

Interested organizations must respond to this RFI to be considered further. However, organizations that responded to the initial RFI need not respond again. Responses are due by 5:00 PM MT February 26, 2021

We welcome your interest. Questions or comments can be directed to rfi<at>iris.edu.

The RFI, which provides additional explanation, context, and instructions for responding, can be found at:

The web page above also provides links to the original RFI, published in June of 2020.
