Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Researchers who are interested in contributing to the development and support of numerical modeling codes in geodynamics and towards conducting independent research. We seek proposals for innovative, original, and feasible software engineering and/or software development projects that complement and/or improve our current practices.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose interests include one or more of the following areas:

development of outreach and training gateways for educational courses in computational geosciences;
implementation of visco-elastic-plastic rheologies with two-phase transport for lithospheric studies,
development of a normal modes code (seismology);
development of common infrastructure for community codes.
Preference will be given to candidates whose proposals include a significant focus on development of outreach and training gateways for computational geoscience education.

CIG supports communities in computational science, dynamo, education, long-term tectonics, mantle convection, multiphysics, seismology, and short-term crustal dynamics.

Position closes: June 30, 2021
Positions must begin by August 1, 2021 and are one-year appointments.
