At the University of Hamburg, Germany, we invite applications for a postdoc position, detailed below.

The position is for a duration of two years, starting on 01.08.2021. The Postdoc is in the framework of the "GIOTTO" project, where we aim to develop a novel monitoring concept based on ambient vibrations to detect possible damage to the structural integrity of buildings. The task of the successful applicant will be to perform seismic interferometry
studies on both synthetic and field data. A further aim of the project is to incorporate rotational data to represent all 6 degrees of freedom (3 for translational and 3 for rotational movement). These tasks will be performed in close cooperation with the project partners (LMU Munich and Federal Institute for Material Research and Testing, Berlin).
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who has extensive experience with the analysis of seismic data or vibrational studies and time series. Experience with seismic noise interferometry analysis is a definite advantage.
Good knowledge of English and good written and oral communication skills are essential for presenting results at workshops and international meetings, and preparing papers for submission to international journals. Previous experience in programming is expected, preferably in Python.
The successful candidate must have either completed, or be in the process of completing, a PhD in a relevant subject area such as seismology, acoustics, physics or similar fields.
