Dear IRIS
I am trying to download some continuous waveform data for a student project starting in a few weeks, usung the obspy FDSN client download service. Mostly this has been successful, but there is one station that I am havig issues with UK.AGSB:
http://ds.iris.edu/mda/UK/AGSB/?starttime=2012-07-18&endtime=2034-12-31
I am requesting data from 2019-03-23 - 2021-09-01, depite this being during the reported run time of the station and should be open access I get the message: FDSNNoDataException: No data available for request.
I'd be grateful if you could let me know if there is a way to get hold of this data (different request service?) or if the station run times are wrongly reported in the station page, so I know whether the student should look for other data sources to use in their project instead. I've also reached out to SEIS-UK who are listed as a network affiliation to see if they have any information on data access.
Please let me know asap before the project starts!
Many Thanks for your help
Jenny Jenkins

Hello Jenny Jenkins,
There are various reasons that a station might be reported as operational yet not deliver data to the archive, it looks like that's what is happening here.
The fsdnws-availability service reports what is actually in the archive:
https://service.iris.edu/fdsnws/availability/1/extent?includerestricted=true&nodata=404&network=UK&starttime=2012-07-18T00%3A00%3A00&endtime=2034-12-31T23%3A59%3A59&station=AGSB&location=--&channel=BHZ
According to that, no data has been delivered from this station since sometime in 2013.
Cheers,
Adam
