The Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island is
seeking motivated PhD students in the field of geophysics. Funded by
U.S. NSF, the research projects will advance understanding of earthquake
physics, crustal deformation, volcanic activities, and the structure and
dynamics of oceanic crust and mantle. The selected students will
specialize in geodesy, earthquake physics, or/and earthquake seismology
with skills and experience in research cruises, numerical simulation,
data analysis, machine learning, inverse method, and/or seismic
tomography. The candidates should have a B.S. or M.Sc. degree in
geophysics, earth sciences, physics, or other related fields. Experience
in data analysis and programming is preferred. Applicants are encouraged
to contact Matt Wei (matt-wei<at>uri.edu <matt-wei<at>uri.edu>, geodesy
& earthquake physics) or Yang Shen (yshen<at>uri.edu
<yshen<at>uri.edu>, seismology) before applying. More details about
