We are currently accepting applications for two (2) funded PhD positions in Full-Wavefield Time-Lapse Seismic Imaging & Inversion, in the Geophysics group at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Both PhD projects will focus on full-wavefield time-lapse imaging (RTM) and inversion (FWI) of active and passive seismic array data to monitor subsurface fluid-flow processes (changes in fluid saturation, pore pressure, stress, heat flow, geomechanical / geochemical effects etc). One PhD project will focus on active source seismic data, the other project will focus on passive Ambient Seismic Noise (ASN) data.

Applicants must have an MS in Geophysics, Physics or a related discipline, with strong skills (or willingness to learn) in seismology, applied physics, mathematics and computation. The average GRE scores for PhD students in our group are GREQ=165, GREV=155, GREW=4. Both positions will be funded by RA and/or TA appointments for 5 years.
