TexNet is hiring a seismic analyst to lead the earthquake analysts team.

Location:
Pickle Research Campus, North Austin, Texas

Responsibilities:
To work on establishing earthquake locations and quality control of results.
Lead the seismic analysis.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 4 years of experience or a PhD degree and 2 years of experience in geophysics, physics, electrical engineering, earth science, or related field. Hands-on experience in earthquake location and computer languages (Python, Matlab, etc.). Demonstrated ability to work effectively in groups and independently, sometimes in demanding conditions. Ability to work with complex datasets and to disseminate results of research projects to professional peers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to meet deadlines and deliverables. Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
More than the required years of experience, with specific background and hands-on experience in SeisComP or one of the commonly used earthquake location software (e.g., Antelope, Earthworm, Seisan). Willingness and ability to adapt to changing research programs and project needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
