Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a two-year Visiting Lecturer position in data science, to begin in fall 2022. Qualifications include a PhD completed or anticipated by December 2022, and a commitment to teaching in a liberal arts environment. The position will be housed in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, with the possibility of a joint appointment in another department if appropriate. We welcome applications from scientists, social scientists, and people in the humanities whose research and teaching align with data ethics, visualization, computation, or analysis.

We seek candidates who have demonstrated potential for strong teaching and curricular development at the undergraduate level, and who will be successful mentoring students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. Faculty at Mount Holyoke College are active in both research and curriculum development, and resources are available to support conference travel and professional development. The teaching expectation is five courses per year, two in one semester and three in the other. The courses can serve other disciplines/departments in addition to data science, mathematics, and statistics depending on the candidate’s interests.
