The Geophysics Department at Sandia National Laboratories is looking for an intern for summer 2023! We are seeking a motivated graduate or undergraduate student to process and analyze distributed acoustic sensing data recorded in the Beaufort Sea off Oliktok Point, Alaska, to characterize the seismic structure of submarine permafrost. Qualifications We Desire
· Exceptional written, oral and visual communication skills
· Proficiency with modern computer languages (e.g. PYTHON, R, MATLAB, C/C++, FORTRAN-XX, MPI, Jupyter, Julia, etc.)
· Experience with laboratory and/or field procedures and protocols
· Machine learning analysis

Qualifications We Require

* Currently attending and enrolled full time (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in a related accredited undergraduate program
* Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
* Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
* U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.
