Hello SAC Users,
I am writing a bash shell script in which I am opening SAC to do some stuff
on my data and then I want to plot the result to look at it for some time
by giving pause command but the script is not holding itself and keep
running. The portion of the script is like this
echo "Please enter the name of Vertical component with extension .BHZ: "

read denominator
echo "Please enter the value…

Dear SAC users,
I use the saveimg command after computing a spectrogram in a trace and I
get:
SAC> saveimg spectrogram.pdf
sh: saveimg: command not found
SAC>
Is this command not present in this SAC distribution (Version 101.4)?
Best,
Aderson

Dear SAC users,
does anybody knows how to make colour filled seismograms? Say, positive
values filled with red and negative with white or some other colour...
Best regards and thanks in advance,
Aderson

Dear SAC users,
I have an issue with the plotrecordsection in SAC (Version 101.5c). I
can get the function description "help plotrecordsection", but if I try
to run it, I get an error message "sh: plotrecordsection: command not
found". I should add that my SAC is working fine for many other
functions I have been using. Variables SACHOME and SACAUX are also set
(/usr/local/sac and /usr/local/sac/aux, respectively).
Does anyone know what may cause this problem?
Thank you in advance,
Stép…

Dear all,
I would like to plot SAC data with the Generic Mapping Tool. I found on
the internet a program pssac.c written by Lupei Zhu, but unfortunately,
I am not able to compile it. Does any of you know an easy way to plot
SAC data within GMT or has ever used pssac.c.
Best Regards,
Stéphane

Dear all,
I am trying to install sac ( version 101.5c) on windows (don't ask me why!). I have installed Cygwin with all requested dependencies, but when I try to configure the source code, I got an error message at line 377, with a variable expected to be an integer.
Any hint? Or work around?
Regards,
Fabio
P.s. Ah, also cygwin is the most recent version, if I recall well 1.17..

Hi Richard, are you encountering a problem when you save a plot as an
image and while inserting the image, you resize it to suit the
aesthetics of the report and it then becomes unreadable ?
I would suggest you resize graphics window (using WINDOW function
http://www.iris.edu/software/sac/commands/window.html or manually by
dragging with the mouse click) before saving the file.
Resize it to the values as you desire in your report. That way all the
text and the resolution of the plot remains u…

Hi, I am trying to find out if it's possible to change the size of the x and y tick mark numeric values and also the fileid information. I have tried experimenting with gtext and tsize but they only seem to affect the xlabel, ylabel and title info.
The reason I want to change these is because I have a figure with 15 or so waveforms created by reading in lots of segy files simultaneously and plotting with p1 and having qdp off. Perhaps as a consequence the tick values and fileid info are pret…

Dear SAC Users:
Does the the 3C option work with Matlab2012a (7.14.0.739)?
What option does 3-D polarization analysis in SAC?
(I did try to recompile sac 101.4 with (~configure -- with-matlab=DIR
... but the ~/matrix.h was deemed
'unusable')
Thank you!
