I always use SAC to confirm seismogram
So, i want to make full filename for 'Tab' key
Then I always take a error message following ...

The sac_i/o functions getfhv, getihv etc print error messages to standard output if the related header variable is not defined, e.g.:
ERROR 1336: Undefined header field value. DEPMIN
this seems an undesirable behaviour to me, since the functions already return an error value that the programmer can handle in their own way.
Is this the designed behaviour or is it something peculiar about my set-up that can be changed?
many thanks,
Neil

I am attempting to remove the instrument response of some data. I downloaded the RESPFILE from IRIS and while using the evalresp option of transfer, I get the following error:
"WARNING (norm_resp): computed and reported sensitivities[ET.CPCT.00.HHE] differ by more than 5 percent."
I thought the final sensitivity at the end of the file is the product of all the different gain/sensitivities of each stage. When I calculate it by hand, I get the sensitivity reported. I am not sure where this…

Dear list members
As I am a new user of SAC not familiar with seismograms, I have faced some
primiliary questions. I would appreciate if you guide me.
-I am looking for vertical components of velocity and acceleration from
seismograms. So I used the TRANSFER function of SAC applying on LHZ
seismogram. I used respond file and PZ files as follows and gained similar
results for vertical velocity. Regarding the acceleration the results are
zero!!!. How I can evaluate vertical acceleration? If I c…

Hi all,
I have two RESP files.
These two are very similar except numerator coefficients are different at 3
stages. Gain and sensitivity values are all the same.
But it seems to me that SAC does not have a way to keep track of the
digital/FIR filter part of the instrument response. Therefore, no matter
which RESP file I used, the amplitudes of traces after removing instrument
response are still the same. but it should be 2.94 times different.
Do anyone have a clue how we can retrieve a pole-…

Hai all
Any body has the instrument response file(PZ file) for the following combination
1. Taurus digitizer+ Trillium 240 seismometer(240 sec, 1500v/m/s)
2. Reftek 72A+ CMG 40T(30 sec, 800 v/m/s)
Thank you very much.

Hello,
I have trouble using the TRANSFER function with the networks II and IU. Other networks I have works fine. I have an example .SAC and polezeros file here if anyone would like to check this issue out.

For example, when I run the following commands,

SAC> TRANSFER FROM POLEZERO SUBTYPE SAC_PZs_II_ASCN_BHZ_ TO NONE FREQ 0.001 0.002 20 25
I get the error
