Hi,
I'm installing rdseed on Mac OSX 10.9.4, to read .SEED files into SAC.
Following instructions in the README file, I am having trouble making
rdseed executable. Here's what I've done thus far.
1. Requested/Downloaded rdseed from IRIS. Unpackage the tar file-- makes
new subdirectory /rdseed5.3.1 on Desktop. I rename directory to /rdseed.
2. Currently, my /sac folder is in /usr/local. I copy the mac executable
into /usr/local/rdseed with command:
*$ cp -p rdseed.mac.x86.64 /usr/local…

Hello,
I am attempting to install SAC onto my MAC OSX 10.9.4, and I am having a
little bit of trouble with the environment setup. I will explain what I've
done thus far:
I downloaded the sac-101.6a-mac_x86_64.tar.gz file and dragged it to my
Desktop, where I executed the command in terminal:
$ tar -xzf sac-101.6a-mac_x86_64.tar.gz
Then a /sac subdirectory was created on my Desktop. Everything is going
well so far.
Then, I go into the README folder and get to the Environment Setup section…

After each editing session of your .bashrc file, you need to source it
to make it's contents current. I.e.:
% source ~/.bashrc
Alternately, log out and/or open a new shell which forces a read of the
.bashrc file.
The way I read your note is that you tried running SAC without sourcing
the freshly edited .bashrc file.

Hi All,
I have a sac file of data recorded at a station and I need the precise
location of the station from the header information. When I do
SAC> r XX.LS01..BHE_20140416_000000.sac
SAC> lh stlo
FILE: XX.LS01..BHE_20140416_000000.sac - 1
--------------------------------------
stlo = -1.108064e+02
I get the longitude up to 4 digits after decimal probably because the
default format is '%.6e'. Is there any way to see this information with 2
more digits after decimal (like '%.6f') in S…

Re: get precise geographic coordinate header info - Arthur Snoke - 2014-07-23 03:52:37
hi there,
I am trying to merge several files from the same station/channel with
sac. The data are downloaded from IRIS using email request. A miniseed
file is then converted to many sac files using mseed2sac.
These particular problematic files include several short and long files,
total 1 day of data. I put all the sac files in one folder and run the
following sac commands.
sac> r *
sac> merge

What does this error mean? I googled around but didn't see an…

Hello dears
I am asking if it possible, how to pick the surface wave automatically on the waveform with SAC.
The purpose is to compute the surface wave magnitude.
Waiting your kind response

Hi SAC users ^_^
I am trying to use the waveform cross-correlation subroutine "crscor"
provided in lib/libsac.a in a Fortran code (see file correlatef.f in
doc/examples for details).
When the number of windows is more than 1, can somebody please confirm
whether it returns the sum of cross-correlations of all windows or the
mean/average cross-correlation of all windows, i.e. does it divide the
sum of cross-correlations of all windows by the number of windows ?
Thanks.

Avinash
