Hello webservice users,
The DMC has updated it's ws-station service: http://www.iris.edu/ws/station/
For users parsing the StationXML returned by ws-station be aware that <NumberChannels> has been changed to <TotalNumberChannels>. New elements have been introduced:
TotalNumberStations
SelectedNumberStations
TotalNumberChannels
SelectedNumberChannels
We have also fixed bugs related to virtual network result sets and timewindow for channel epochs.
For users of the DMC's Fetch scripts no ch…

Hello all.
A suggestion: Some methods of parsing XML data do not deal very well with
namespaces. For those using such methods, it would be useful if the web
services included something like a "ns" parameter defaulting to "yes",
setting it to "no" would send just the XML with the namespace and schema
declarations stripped out of the root element.
Thanks!

The ws-station service does not seem to access all the stations that are available using mda or mds.
For example for station BAR network CI:
This URL returns data
http://www.iris.edu/mda/CI/BAR
and this URL does not
http://www.iris.edu/ws/station/query?level=channel&net=CI&sta=BAR

Hello.
I'm using the station webservice in EMERALD to maintain a local cache of
network, station, and component metadata. In the Network level, reuse of
network codes makes it difficult to differentiate between new and modified
networks, e.g., if a network EndDate changes, my system registers it as a
new usage of the network code instead of modification of an existing
network.
Is there some unique identifier for each network which can be included in
the web service?
Thanks!

Hi
I am trying to get a new release out of seisFile (that includes client
support for the station web service) and so was testing the other
parts. I am now getting an error from the data select web service that
I am pretty sure used to work. It appears that the duration being a
float instead of an int is causing this as if I remove the ".0" it
works. I can fix my client to only send ints, but it seems like the
server should be able to accept a float duration.
thanks,
Philip
