Regional Networks

About Regional Networks

A regional network can be defined as any network of seismic installations that are within a restricted geographic region and normally operated by a single network operator.

Activities of US regional networks are coordinated by the USGS (ANSS). Archived waveform data are distributed through a variety of data centers, including IRIS.

IRIS receives data from several U.S. and non-U.S. regional networks. You can use SeismiQuery - our on-line database browsing tool - for specific information about what regional network data is available from IRIS. An NCEDC version of SeismiQuery is also available.
