Michael Lane- Linux System Administrator

In November of 2018 I joined the Operations group at the IRIS DMC as a Linux System Administrator. Prior to joining the DMC I worked at a variety of organizations, both public and private. Most recently I served as the Senior Computing Specialist at the Alcohol and Drug Institute of the University of Washington where I had the pleasure of working with a a variety of scientists in order to try to meet the myriad needs of an environment that contained both PHI and public data.

I’m a military brat, so if you ask where I’m from you might get a list but Seattle has been my home for over a decade. I received my degree from George Mason University and much of my family still lives in the DC area.

In my spare time I am probably still tinkering with technology. I like playing with my kids, writing, reading, hiking, sharing good food, and creating groans with truly awful word play.

I’m looking forward to sharing what I know, expanding my knowledge, and contributing to the DMC.
