As a short term work around for cases of invalid xml from the IRIS FDSN
Station ws, I have put up a modified version of the FDSN StationXML schema
that aims to make small invalid items be valid. This allows a validator to
get past common, but unimportant places where the XML is invalid (like
responses of LOG channels) and allow the validator to say that the rest of
the xml is ok.

Looks like the latest version of the DMC ws fixed these two issues, so no
longer any need for this.
