Dear Colleagues,
Recently, I have requested to the IRIS a copy of Linux version of SAC. In response
to this request, Mr. Tim Knight from IRIS sent me two e-mail's with the following files :
1 - The files of the first e-mail are the following :
05Mar01.sac.bin.linux.tgz (394 bytes)
05Mar01.sac.bin.linux.tgz (1.61 MB)
sac_license.txt (12.2 KB)
2 - The files of the second e-mail are the following :
05Mar01.sac.tgz (385 bytes)
05Mar01.sac.tgz (2.57 MB)
Readme.buildsac (1.37 KB)
sac_license.txt (12.2 KB)
The problems and doubts associated with those files are the following :
1 - First of all, I thought strange that files 05Mar... have the same names. It generates
a problem that can be easily solved. However, is it correct ?
2 - Both 05Mar01.sac.bin.linux.tgz (394 bytes) and 05Mar01.sac.tgz (385 bytes) files
have problems because after changes their names I could not open them.
3 - What is the difference between the first set of files and the second one ?
4 - As recommended, I put both 05Mar01.sac.bin.linux.tgz (1.61 MB) and
05Mar01.sac.tgz (2.57 MB) in the following place :
/usr/local
A very important information is that we are using a Linux Mandrake 8.2. I saw in the
Readme file that SAC was build in both Redhat and Debian. Thus, is it possible to
run it on Mandrake or I must use Redhat or Debian ?
I opened the tar files and the sac directory was automatically constructed. Then, I went
to src directory and make clean and finally make. After apply the make command I got
the following message :
make SAC
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/sac/src'
cd main; make sac.o
make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/local/sac/src/main'
cc -w -c -I../../inc sac.c
cc:installation problem, cannot exec `cpp0': No such file or directory
make[2]:***[sac.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/sac/src/main'
make[1]:***[main/sac.o] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/sac/src'
make:***[all] Error 2
I would like to thank you for your help in advance.
Best regards,
Jorge Luis
