The Alaska Earthquake Center, located at the Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska Fairbanks, is in charge of monitoring earthquakes in mainland Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. Center personnel advise state and federal government on seismic hazards and educate residents about earthquakes throughout Alaska, the most seismically active state in the nation. We are currently accepting applications for a Research Technician 4/Seismic Network Technician. The Seismic Network Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining remote earthquake monitoring field sites that deliver real-time data telemetered to UAF.
