The Department of Geosciences at Trinity University invites applications for a renewable, nine-month term position (pending final budgetary approval). The appointment will be made at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor and will begin August 2014.
A Ph.D. in geosciences is required. The successful candidate must have a commitment to undergraduate teaching. Previous experience teaching at the college level is desirable. The teaching load will be nine to ten contact hours per semester. Responsibilities include teaching introductory courses in geology (lecture and lab) and other selected courses. The area of expertise is open, but should complement the strengths of the existing faculty in the department.
Applicants should provide a letter of application that addresses the candidate’s’ experience and teaching and research interests, a curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references. Please send materials electronically to Dr. Diane R. Smith, Chair, Department of Geosciences, at geos.search<at>trinity.edu. Consideration of applications will begin on February 1 and will continue until the position is filled. Trinity University is an equal opportunity employer. Minority and women candidates are encouraged to apply.
