*Geophysicist*

The US Geological Survey Central Energy Resources Science Center is
soliciting interest from qualified individuals for a geophysicist
position in Lakewood, Colorado. Successful applicants must have
qualifying education and expertise in processing 2-D and 3-D seismic
reflection data and be proficient in the use of UNIX/Linux.
Responsibilities will include the development and implementation of
innovative seismic data processing algorithms and techniques to carry
out detailed imaging of the earth’s subsurface in areas of complex
geology, geophysical problem areas, and/or frontier basins.
Additionally, successful applicants would be responsible for the
archiving of all onshore seismic reflection data for the science center.

Candidates must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of
geologists, geochemists and petroleum engineers. Excellent writing and
oral presentation skills are also required because candidates are
expected to publish results of scientific studies in technical journals
and USGS publications.
