*Apply to Participate in the Eastern North America Community Seismic
Experiment *

We are looking for volunteer participants in the GeoPRISMS Eastern North
America Community Seismic Experiment (ENAM CSE), which will collect a
suite of active and passive source seismic data along the mid-Atlantic
coast. The ENAM CSE involves the offshore and land deployment of
seismometers that will record land and marine seismic sources and marine
multi-channel seismic data acquisition. More information about the
objectives and design of the ENAM CSE can be found online:

http://www.geoprisms.org/enam/community-seismic-experiment.html

*Explosion seismic shoot and onshore/offshore recording (Survey, deploy,
recover Reftek instruments)*

September 7 – October 11, 2014

PIs: Beatrice Magnani, Dan Lizarralde, Steven Harder

*Active-source seismic cruise (Langseth)*

PIs: Donna Shillington, Matt Hornbach, Anne Bécel

September 15 - October 22, 2014

*Active-source OBS deployment (Endeavor)*

September 12 - October 13, 2014

PIs: Harm Van Avendonk, Brandon Dugan

Research opportunities and travel funds are available for participation
in any of the field activities. Selected applicants will contribute to
collecting the open access data that will be provided to the scientific
community for use in addressing a wide spectrum of GeoPRISMS and
EarthScope science. These opportunities are designed to expand the
visibility of land and marine seismic field programs and to expand the
experience pool for field-based geophysics. Applications from students
and early career scientists are particularly encouraged. Participants do
not need to have experience with the type of data collection they will
participate in; we hope that wide community participation in these field
campaigns will provide opportunities for scientists to gain familiarity
with a variety of data collection techniques.

If you are interested to participate, please inquire by email with the
following PIs:

_For the active-source OBS cruise:_

Brandon Dugan (dugan<at>rice.edu <dugan<at>rice.edu>) and Harm Van
Avendonk (harm<at>ig.utexas.edu <harm<at>ig.utexas.edu>)

_For the marine seismic shooting cruise:_

Donna Shillington (djs<at>ldeo.columbia.edu <djs<at>ldeo.columbia.edu>)
and Matt Hornbach (mhornbach<at>smu.edu <mhornbach<at>smu.edu>)

_For the Land-Seismic deployment:_

Beatrice Magnani (mmagnani<at>smu.edu <mmagnani<at>smu.edu>) and Dan
Lizarralde (danl<at>whoi.edu <danl<at>whoi.edu>)
