The Seismology Lab at the Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Research in the Lab involves studies of seismic sources and Earth structure using simulation of wave propagation in 3D (an)elastic models at local to global scales (http://seismolab.gso.uri.edu). The Lab operates a state-of-art high-performance computational facility. The successful applicant will work on waveform-based tomography and/or source inversion. The position requires strong computational skills and familiarity with seismic data processing. Experience with high-performance parallel computation is preferred but not required.

The position is available for two years, with a possibility of transition to a more senior researcher position, contingent upon satisfactory performance and funding. Salary and fringe benefits are commensurate with experience and qualifications. Completion of all Ph.D. requirements is necessary at the time of appointment. The position will remain open until filled.
