IRIS invites applications, particularly from early-year graduate students or those starting graduate programs in the fall, for the IRIS-EarthScope USArray Data Processing and Analysis Short Course.

The course will be held at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois from August 1-5, 2016. Topics will include command-line tools (Unix, GMT, SAC, Python), MATLAB, bulk data access strategies, and the introduction and application of analytical techniques (e.g. earthquake characterization, shear-wave splitting, receiver function calculation, P-delay analysis) to USArray data.

Up to $500 in domestic travel support, lodging (double occupancy), and most meals are available for those selected to attend. If you have previously attended a USArray Short Course, you are not eligible to apply. International applicants are welcome, but are not eligible for financial support.
