Earthquake and Tsunami Forecasting System Research Group, Research and Development (R&D) Center for Earthquake and Tsunami (CEAT), JAMSTEC is soliciting applications for Postdoctoral Researcher who will work independently on projects, including a priority project for "Post-K" (3) called “Sophisticated numerical analysis of diverse earthquake and tsunami disaster scenarios” (FY2014～2019) and a sub-project entitled “Construction of an integrated forecast system for complex disasters caused by earthquakes and tsunamis.” Project tasks will include the following;

・development of large-scale viscoelastic FEM code for calculating the dynamics of preparation, generation and postseismic processes of earthquakes in and around Japan. Code needs to be optimized for K computer and to be prepared for post-K computer
・development of inversion methods for data assimilation with the above FEM code
・other duties designated by the department

Experience in crustal deformation simulation using K computer.
