POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Assistant Professor in Geosciences

The Department of Geosciences in the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in Critical Zone Geosciences. We seek a dynamic researcher who is advancing understanding of geologic processes affecting Earth’s critical zone. Frontier topics of research in this field may include exploring the complex interactions and feedbacks within the critical zone at broad spatial and temporal scales, advancing fundamental theory of processes within Earth’s near and subsurface, utilizing novel measurement techniques, models and datasets, or addressing grand challenges within the critical zone. Areas of research interest include but are not limited to: biogeochemistry, geochronology, geomorphology, hydrology, low temperature geochemistry, and near-surface geophysics. The candidate should have broad research interests compatible with those of the current faculty in our Department of Geosciences. The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous research program, attract external funding, and contribute to the instruction, research and service efforts of the department. A Ph.D. in geosciences or a closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment.
